2010 Governor's Health Bowl
|
|
The Governor's Health Bowl is an annual competition that offers a fun opportunity for individual Champions, Participating Organizations and Schools involved in the Healthiest State in the Nation Campaign to build challenges around fitness and knowledge about our state's health!
The first annual Health Bowl was held in 2005, when the Washington Health Foundation (WHF) worked with Governor Chris Gregoire to challenge Washingtonians to log One Million Miles of Health on the WHF website. In 2006, WHF and the Governor once again challenged Washingtonians — this time to log 2.5 Million Miles in six weeks. The challenge in 2007 and 2008 was a staggering 5 million miles of health and in every one of those years - Health Bowl participants exceeded the goal set out for them.
2009 Brought Fun New Challenges for all Healthiest State Participants!
Champions: In weekly drawings, individuals had an opportunity to win Washington resort weekends, ski packages, health club memberships, museum tickets and more!
Participating Organizations: Many organizations participated
in the Healthiest Business Challenge. The five
organizations with the highest Bowl average won prizes for their participants.

Schools: The School Challenge includes elementary, middle, junior and high schools. Each school received a package to get them started, including a map on which students could track their miles, going from Olympia, Washington to Washington, D.C. Each student participant received a prize, and the winning schools were honored at the Governor's Mansion in Olympia. ![]() |
